Join the Quincy Lincoln Douglas Debate Sesquicentennial opening ceremonies on October 11th 2008 in Clat Adams Park.  There will be a 4-mile bicycle ride that will leave from Clat Adams Park and travel to the Lincoln Storyboard sites.  Riders are asked to pre-register for the event by contacting Jennifer Arnold at 217-228-4514.  Registration in the park will start around 8:00 am and all cyclists will be leaving the park following Lincoln and Douglas at 9:45 am to proceed past several Lincoln Storyboard sties with brief interpretive stops at Woodland Cemetary and the John Wood Mansion.  Make sure if you are joining us that you take the time to decorate your bike or yourself in our nation’s colors of red, white, and blue.  The Friends of the Trails will be selling corn bread, cider, and coffee the morning of the ride as a fundraiser.  So come down and join the event to go on a jaunt through history.
